Job Purpose
The Compliance Specialist will assist the Manager of Compliance in the organization’s internal and external audit processes and will take full responsibility for collection and maintenance of paper and electronic program records, ensuring that all compliance rules and guidelines pertaining to program records are effectively completed. This position also trains, supervises, and manages a team of seasonal staff to complete assigned projects and tasks ensuring compliant processes and file integrity throughout programs. The person in this role will assist in identifying potential risk areas while performing compliance reviews, program reviews, and internal audits as directed by the Manager of Compliance, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Manager of Compliance with the organization’s internal and external audit processes and compliance risk assessments and will take responsibility for monitoring organizational business activities for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Assist in identifying potential risk areas by conducting risk assessments and compliance audits as directed by the Manager of Compliance, and as dictated through program life cycles.
- Ensure Y.O.U. meets Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP) data requirements as it relates to the State system of record, currently ARIES.
- Audit Program Partner records and documentation for accuracy, providing reports to the Manager of Compliance and Senior Manager for Young Adult Workforce Collaborative..
- Review monthly Partner invoicing for accurate funding source allocations.
- Assist with compliance reviews of the organization’s processes and procedures for best practices and ensure compliance with established policies.
- Research and maintain knowledge of Y.O.U.’s compliance requirements and ensure that our participant files meet contract requirements.
- Oversees administrative staff to ensure file maintenance and integrity, including but not limited to verification that all participant files have completed specified eligibility determination processes and ensure that appropriate documents, certificates, background information, and contact information is present as required/standardized by the contracts.
- Responsible for managing the functions and flow of file room process including but not limited to participant file management, maintenance, and storage.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- An additional 4 years of work experience as detailed below can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. High School Diploma required.

- Must have valid transportation to/from Y.O.U. offices, partner organizations, and other community-based locations to meet with employers.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working in compliance or with regulatory standards.
- Must pass a background BCI/FBI check as a condition of employment.

Work Environment
- This is a hybrid position, during non-peak programming (October – February). This position will work remotely 2 days a week and will be scheduled to work in the office 3 days a week. During peak programming (March – September), this position must be in the office 5 days a week. The work pace for this position is usually fast paced where work is required for up to 2 hours at a time. Low supervision from manager with intermittent prompts is expected. Social interaction with clients and team members is required frequently.
- The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, or other hazards.
- When working remotely, must have a workspace free of distractions and background noise (Pets, children, television, radio, etc.)
