Purpose of PositionTo lead and manage all logistics functions supporting aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations, ensuring timely delivery of parts and materials, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency within a government contracting environment.         

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without reasonable accommodation)  

  • Addresses conflicts and strives to resolve them in a positive manner that benefits all parties and facilitates healthy work relationships.
  • Lead logistics planning and execution to support scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance and overhaul activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with FAR, DFARS, AS9110, and FAA regulations in all logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Oversee procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution of aviation parts and consumables.
  • Collaborate with maintenance planners, quality assurance, and engineering teams to align logistics support with MRO schedules.
  • Develop and maintain logistics procedures and documentation to support audits and inspections by regulatory and government agencies.
  • Implement and optimize ERP and MRO software systems to track inventory, work orders, and compliance data.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for logistics-related delays or compliance issues.
  • Prepare and manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Timely completes, approves, and adjusts time and attendance/labor reporting as required.
  • Ensures diligent and accurate use of the production software system.
  • Fills in and performs duties of Production Coordinators as necessary.
  • Responsible for completing employee reviews and documenting work performance.
  • Responsible for coaching, counseling, and holding employees accountable as required.
  • Accountable for maintaining complete and accurate production reports and shop production boards.
  • Accountable for ensuring WIP is processed correctly and efficiently in accordance with the company production schedule.
  • Accountable for maintaining appropriate levels of qualified personnel within the department to achieve company goals.
  • Accountable for ensuring all Logistics Department deadlines are met.
  • Maintains and supports cost control efforts for labor and material to support facility/department financial goals.
  • Travels as required.
  • Confers with Management to recommend changes such as equipment utilization, production methods, and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement.
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and PPE requirements (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.) and ensures others comply with safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have proficient knowledge of major aviation departments: Inspection, Engine, Accessory Components, Propeller, NDT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must have strong project management skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with and manage diverse groups and individuals. 
  • Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers and or employees.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and the ability to learn other company specific software  
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE as required 
  • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Must be able to hear running machinery
  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
  • Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
  • Must regularly be able to reach overhead
  • Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and stand
  • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


Marginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person, unless he/she proves unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate)

Experience and Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 20+ years of experience in aviation logistics required.
  • 5 years in a leadership role supporting MRO operations required.
  • Certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, AS9110, and FAA compliance requirements preferred.
  • Experience supporting U.S. government or DoD aviation maintenance contracts preferred.
  • Proficiency in MRO and logistics systems (e.g., AMOS, Quantum Control, SAP) preferred.
  • Experience with ITAR compliance and international logistics preferred.
  • Background in military aviation or depot-level maintenance environments preferred.

Work Conditions:

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
