Position Overview:

As a Busser/Food Runner at Hotel Effie Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth service by assisting servers and delivering food to guests. Your focus will be on maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area, supporting the wait staff, and providing a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Table Maintenance: Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently while adhering to hotel cleanliness standards.
  • Food Running: Assist in delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring the correct dishes are served.
  • Guest Service Support: Work closely with servers to ensure guests have everything they need, including refilling drinks, providing extra utensils, and clearing plates.
  • Dining Room Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including floors, tables, and service stations.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Setup and Breakdown: Help with the setup and breakdown of service stations and dining areas before and after meal service.
  • Assist with Special Events: Support servers and kitchen staff during events, ensuring that food is delivered quickly and tables are properly cleared.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to assist wherever needed.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more.
  • Lifting: Capable of lifting and carrying trays, dishes, and supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Endurance: Requires physical stamina to bend, kneel, stoop, and stretch throughout the shift, particularly during peak service hours.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle utensils, plates, and other service items efficiently.
  • Coordination: Able to move swiftly and safely in a fast-paced environment, especially when delivering food to tables.
  • Hearing and Vision: Must be able to hear and communicate clearly with staff and guests and have the vision necessary to identify orders and maintain cleanliness standards.
