The UOW Library is a dynamic and forward-thinking division within the Academic Services portfolio. It plays a critical role in supporting the University’s learning, teaching, and research priorities through the provision of scholarly resources, digital access, and strategic partnerships.

About the Opportunity

The Manager, Library Systems and Digital Presence will lead the development of digitally capable learning and service environments. This role oversees the governance, support, and strategic advancement of Library business applications, systems, and technology solutions, while enhancing the Library’s digital presence through user-centred design and emerging technologies.

You will lead a team of digital specialists, drive innovation in academic services, and contribute to data-informed decision-making that supports research and learning excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the management of Library technology across all onshore campuses
  • Oversee the Digital Presence team and apply contemporary UX models
  • Coordinate support for Library business applications and systems
  • Drive strategic initiatives in emerging technologies and digital practices
  • Develop data analysis and visualisation capabilities to inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to sector-wide innovation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree plus postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Strategic leadership experience in digital, AI, and technology infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector and regulatory obligations
  • Proven ability to lead innovation programs and organisational change
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in user-centred design and digital service delivery
  • Strategic planning and workforce development capabilities

This position may require occasional work outside standard business hours and across UOW campuses and partner facilities.
