Job Summary

 

ABOUT THE JOB
We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Marine Terminal Manager to oversee all aspects of aggregate terminal operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient reception and delivery of aggregate materials by truck, rail and/or ocean-going vessel, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational performance.
 

Job Responsibilities

 

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

As a Marine Terminal Manager at Cemex, your responsibilities will include:

  • Health & Safety: Implement and oversee Cemex Health and Safety systems; meet or exceed company safety standards.
  • Operations: Manage aggregate reception and delivery, including truck and vessel logistics.
  • Compliance: Ensure all operations meet federal and state environmental and safety regulations.
  • Budgeting: Develop and manage terminal budgets, manage costs, and monitor inventory to prevent stock outs or demurrage.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Operations: Oversee maintenance and operation of mobile, unloading, and conveying equipment with the support of personnel.
  • Procurement: Handle purchasing for operational materials and coordinate with the Procurement team.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and execute strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Onsite Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop front-line employees at the facility; promote open communication and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Reporting & Communication: Collaborate with senior leadership and provide updates on operational status and challenges.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other job duties as assigned by management or as required for onsite operations.

Qualifications

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you should bring: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in aggregate terminal operations; supervisory experience required.
  • Educational and Licensing Requirements: Highschool diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy; familiarity with operational software and equipment systems.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership qualities including motivation, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
  • Problem Solving: Results-oriented mindset with analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Safety Commitment: Strong adherence to safety protocols and risk management practices.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage high-pressure situations and dynamic operational environments.

Working Conditions

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Environment: Office and industrial terminal environment with exposure to weather and heavy equipment.
  • Schedule: Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
  • Safety First: Wearing protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols including Cemex and OSHA regulations is a must. 
    • Adhere to OSHA 1918 maritime standards
    • Adhere to 33 CFR, aka- Coast Guard safety regulation
    • Adhere to OSHA 1910 General Industry standards
  • Physical Requirements: Regular walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing; ability to exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally.
