Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Analyst has the responsibility for assisting in the bi-weekly preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis, and auditing of payroll data, information, records, and reports; and ensuring accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes payroll for all Brooks Health System employees including receipt and management of associate’s work hours, earnings, deductions, and taxes in compliance with federal and state regulations with accuracy and timeliness including, but not limited to, wage garnishments, personal leave, insurance, benefits, retirement, tax levies and liens
  • Participates in the preparation and maintenance of records and reports related to payroll, employee information, time sheets, benefits, salaries, leave, taxes, deductions, and payments
  • Performs bi-weekly audits of Time & Attendance edits to department variance logs
  • Prepares and maintains various payroll forms (calendar, run-book, etc.)
  • Prepares and submits check requests to accounts payable for deductions withheld and mails out checks to respective vendors
  • Assist Managers/Timekeepers with various questions or concerns related to payroll
  • Composes, distributes, and responds to inquiries and distributes payroll-related documents and materials to employees
  • Reviews, evaluates, and audits payroll account changes, and related financial and statistical data
  • Reviews, verifies, prepares, and audits payroll for transmission
  • Performs bi-weekly load &/ reconciliation of payroll accounts resulting from earnings and deduction loads prior to payroll processing and extending to reconciliation of general ledger accounts post payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of all relevant payroll, employment, and income tax laws, regulations, and operating guidelines.
  • Ability to prepare all related payroll tax and audit reports, including those required by workers compensation and unemployment.
  • Ability to meet internal deadlines as well as due dates imposed government guidelines.
  • Presents to Payroll Manager critical issues requiring direction/resolution
  • Assist Payroll Manager with year-end processing and audits
  • May take on other special projects from Accounting Controller or Payroll Manager as assigned
  • Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws, and corresponds with federal, state, and local tax agencies as needed
  • Ensures excellent levels of customer service and responses to inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred
  • 2-3 years payroll experience working in a multi-company setting preferred
  • Strong customer service skills required to interact with internal and external contacts to exchange or obtain information
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile payroll data
  • Knowledge of payroll administration including a reasonable understanding of all rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and record keeping ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate requirements
  • ADP SmartCompliance experience required
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud experience required
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.
  • Good time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to perform work in a self-directed, team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidential information

Location: Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, 3599 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, FL 32259

Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week 

Compensation: Experience, education and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
