About the opportunity
The Admissions team leads the strategic direction and implementation of the University’s admissions plan. We are seeking an Admissions Assistant to support the team in delivering a high-quality admissions experience for prospective students. This role plays a key part in the assessment and processing of student applications to the University of Sydney, contributing to our goal of admitting talented students from both domestic and international backgrounds.
You will use your strong customer service, administrative, and communication skills to assist with a range of tasks including responding to email enquiries, managing documentation, and supporting admissions processes. Attention to detail is essential, as you’ll be handling sensitive student information and ensuring accuracy in all communications and records.
About you
We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- high quality customer service skills with the ability to interpret and apply appropriate policies and procedures
- proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in interpreting spread sheets (Excel) and managing communication via Outlook
- strong administrative, communication and data handling skills within a results focused, high-volume environment
- previous exposure to policies, systems, processes, and procedures within a Higher Education institution
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, professional emails and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
