Value Proposition
This is a key role within the banks second line of defense, Operational Risk Management (ORM) team. This role will be responsible to provide Quality Assurance on ORM programs including Control Testing, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), and Operational Risk Events (ORE).
The role is responsible to execute complex and broader oversight Operational Risk Program (ORP) QC over ORM Risk Programs such as controls testing, RCSA, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), Operational Risk Events (ORE) along with maintaining quality of deliverables supporting Audit and Regulatory remediations through validation of the final outputs.

About the Team:
The Operational Risk Management (ORM) Quality Assurance function is a team of Risk Professionals who promote risk management excellence by fostering a culture that is proactive, transparent and accountable, ensuring that risk is managed effectively in alignment with FCB’s risk appetite and strategic objectives. This is a second line of defense team acting as trusted advisors to the business in managing Operational Risk across multiple Operational Risk Categories (e.g. Technology, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Operations, etc.).
Impact
This is a key role within the Bank’s second line of defense. The role provides Quality Assurance and feedback on the First Line of Defense and / or Second Line of Defense activities by evaluating its adherence to bank’s policies and Standards.
Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)
Complete the Quality Control Review on assigned tasks as it relates to various risk programs mentioned above.
Ensure all aspects of compliance to associated standards are adequately assessed
Review the QC review work performed by Sr. Advisor Operational Risk Management as needed
Ensure the quality of documentation meets the required standards
Communicate the results of oversight QC to relevant stakeholders and ensure necessary buy in
Coach and facilitate Sr. Advisor Operational Risk Management in performing reviews, stakeholder discussions and meetings
Monitor and follow-up of remediation plans and their statuses to ensure effective risk mitigation
Ad-Hoc Support - Assist in providing support to Ad-hoc requests (as required)
Skills and Qualification
Functional Skills:
Strong “Risk” mindset - identifying & managing risk based on impact to business.
Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Problem Solving - Apply Analytical and logical thinking to identify and manage the deliverables, resolve problems.
Attention to Detail - Ensure accuracy & thoroughness in all tasks.
Partner with peers and mentor junior team members.
Working knowledge of MS tools such as word, Excel and PPT
Technical Skills:
Risk and control frameworks as it applies to global banks.
Operational & Compliance risks as it relates to banking in general.
Knowledge and experience of risk management in Operational Risk and / or compliance risk with a US Bank including but not limited to Operational Risk Events (ORE), Controls Assurance, and Third- Party Risk Management (TPRM).
Second line review and challenge or Quality Assurance or Quality Controls activities
Leadership Qualities
