Provide case management, advocacy support, and community referrals to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking using the Trauma-Informed Care Model. Assess survivor needs, create individualized case plans, collaborate with community partners, and promote resiliency and empowerment

Job Description

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: CDCA certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months) and victim advocacy experience.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and co-occurring substance use and trauma histories.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability; ability to pass background checks (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide case management and confidential support, including crisis intervention, referrals, safety planning, and follow-ups.
  • Develop and monitor individualized case plans, assist with housing, and connect clients to resources.
  • Compile reports, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with program goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate workshops and programming to promote self-sufficiency and life skills.
  • Support shelter operations, including coverage, conflict resolution, de-escalation, and client engagement.
  • Collaborate with housing specialists and external agencies to secure services for survivors and families.
  • Serve as a positive role model for staff and clients, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and decision-making skills.
  • Always adheres to Service Excellence standards.
  • Represent the organization in community events, coalitions, and taskforces as assigned.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; step up and down; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear and drive. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Hours vary and may include evenings, weekends and holiday coverage

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
