Summary:
The Bar Tender Lead is responsible for overseeing bar & food preparation operations during shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory, training staff, and creating a high-energy and professional bar environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bartending Duties:
- Establish policies & procedures for bartending and food preparation
- Create & adhere to open & close Checklists
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Provide excellent customer service with efficiency, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Uphold brand standards regarding drink recipes, portion control, and presentation.
- Ensure all customers are of legal drinking age and consume alcohol responsibly.
Leadership & Supervision:
- Assist in scheduling, training, and mentoring bar staff.
- Lead by example and foster a positive team environment.
- Monitor bar staff performance and provide real-time feedback.
- Manage customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner. Elevate to GM/AGM if unable to resolve.
Operations & Inventory:
- Meet with Vendors as necessary
- Create Order Guides
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked and prepped before opening and cleaned/reset after shifts.
- Assist with ordering, inventory tracking, and minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as liquor licensing laws.
Cash Handling:
- Accurately process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
- Assist in daily cash-out procedures and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of Silverware (ability to learn platform)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2–4 years of bartending experience; 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Proven knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high-volume service.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in [State/Location].
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
- Nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Flexible availability is a must.
