Job Title: Accountant
Location: Remote within Germany, and traveling to our offices in Vienna from time to time
Languages: German (fluent) & English
Experience: 2-3 years in German accounting (HGB) plus 1-2 years in financial operations, ideally in a tech/SaaS environment or Accounting/tax advisory firm
Salary: €60,000 - €65,000 gross/year
Contract: Full-time under local labor law

🎯 The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting operations for our German entities, support international bookkeeping processes, and ensure compliance with HGB and other statutory requirements.
You’ll play a key role in driving accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in our financial operations across multiple jurisdictions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 3–4 years of German accounting experience, ideally within a tech or SaaS environment, who thrives in a fast-paced, international scale-up.
🛠 What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end bookkeeping and month-end closing for our German entities under HGB, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations (DATEV)
Prepare German VAT returns and other statutory filings, coordinate closely with external tax advisors and auditors, support year-end processes
Run global customer billing and accounts receivable management, ensure accurate and timely invoicing, track collections, perform reconciliations, improve data quality with internal teams (Abillify, Brevo)
Support bookkeeping and reporting for the Austrian entity when required
Support preparation of annual financial statements (HGB) for small entities in Italy and Spain, coordinate with local accountants
Assist consolidation reporting under UGB, handle intercompany reconciliations, provide reports to HQ
Contribute to IFRS conversion and reporting
Review and improve accounting processes, document procedures, and strengthen internal controls to ensure scalability across entities
🙌 What You Bring
3–4 years of professional experience in German accounting (HGB)
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT returns, and statutory filings
Experience in month-end closings, reconciliations, and coordination with auditors/tax advisors, accounts payable and receivables process optimizations
Hands-on, problem-solving mindset, ideally gained in a tech or SaaS environment
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and accountable
Fluency in German and strong English skills
