Hours of Job
Full-time, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with flexible scheduling.
Occasional weekend and holiday coverage may be required to support staffing needs related to employee absences or elevated patient census.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations within the Mixed Acuity setting, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Review, develop, and maintain policies, procedures, forms, and documentation to ensure consistent adherence to standards.
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Promote patient satisfaction through effective management and service delivery.
Ensure compliance with state regulations, DNV NIAHO standards, and other applicable requirements.
Establish and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Manage resources effectively, including staffing, space, equipment, and other operational needs.
Analyze workflows and operational challenges to identify and implement process improvements.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and teamwork.
Lead recruitment and retention efforts, cultivating a positive and supportive work environment.
Oversee hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Maintain strong physician relationships by being responsive to clinical needs and concerns.
Encourage engagement of medical staff in evidence-based practices and clinical excellence.
Collaborate across departments to coordinate efforts and minimize duplication.
Demonstrate adaptability in response to changing circumstances and organizational needs.
Promote effective communication and positive interpersonal relationships to support hospital goals.
Participate in professional and civic organizations and committees to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong organizational and management capabilities.
Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes high-stress environment.
Flexibility to support all shifts as needed.
Skilled in designing and maintaining competency-based orientation and annual validation programs across multiple acuity levels (med-surg through ICU).
Education/Certifications
Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Allied Health, or Business Administration required within two years of hire.
Current Ohio RN licensure required.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., charge nurse, resource nurse, assistant manager).
Strong clinical expertise across the acuity continuum (medical-surgical, stepdown, and critical care).
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in mixed-acuity environments.
Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring staff for clinical and leadership development.
Experience designing and managing competency-based orientation and annual validation programs.
Demonstrated ability to identify staff strengths and developmental needs, provide constructive feedback, and mentor nurses toward clinical and leadership advancement.
Clinical and management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
