Acme Brick Company (a Berkshire Hathaway Company) is an organization of professionals in the manufacturing and building material distribution industry.  We manufacture brick and distribute our own brick as well as brick and associated products manufactured by others.  We operate in 13 states with a philosophy that we are much more than a brick manufacturer and distributor.

Summary

We are currently seeking a “best in class” Credit Coordinator with excellent organization skills and a personable disposition.  You will have responsibility for credit decisions typically at a Regional level and provide support and customer contact for credit. Responsible for daily credit processing, account maintenance, evaluation and reconciliations as well as collection efforts.  The ideal candidate has a natural ability to roll with the punches, being flexible to handle anything that might come their way. You will be a strong and reliable support to company operations, maintaining procedures, communication and customer service.  Not only will your efforts allow us to achieve organizational efficiency, you will nurture the pleasant work environment our people love.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned). This is a safety sensitive position*

·         May approve credit for new applications and updates for existing accounts up to authority delegated by the District Sales Manager.

·         Overall responsibility and supervision of credit function at District level office.

·         Account reconciliation and collection of National/Regional key accounts.

·         Investigate and resolve any issues or complaints, including larger accounts and more difficult, complex situations.

·         Communicate directly with customers regarding credit status and issues.

·         Coordinate collection efforts with severely aged accounts including filing of liens, bonds and bankruptcies.

 

Skills and Experience Required for Success

·         2+ years of experience in an office setting

·         Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel (JDE experience preferred)

·         Knowledge of credit and lien laws in respective geographic area

Education

 

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; some college is preferred.
