The Clinical Educator will collaborate with clinical leadership and the Learning & Development Department to meet clinical training needs across Bowen Health's continuum. All training will have a focus on gold standard in the industry to meet patient need with a deep commitment to compassionate, patient centered care in an integrative care model.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. - Develop evidence-based training for skills staff, skills mentors and skills supervisors; update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates and creating offerings for advanced skill level providers. Training will provide foundational generalist skills to serve patients across age range and presenting problems.
- Develop evidence-based training for BHRC counselors, update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates.
- Develop evidence-based training for interns, update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates. Serve as liaison for internship program both internally and externally with educational institutions.
- Develop evidence-based training for therapists; update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates and create offerings for advance level providers and specialty tracks. Training will provide foundational generalist skills to serve patients across age range and diagnostic spectrum.
- Develop evidence-based training for behavioral health consultants, update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates. Training will provide brief behavioral intervention options to support common mental health and physical health needs in a primary care setting.
- Develop evidence-based training for clinical supervision leads, update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates. Training will provide a supervision model and expectations to support behavioral health service continuum.
- Develop evidence-based training for transitional living service continuum, update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates.
- Develop evidence-based training for crisis response team including mobile response, crisis receiving, inpatient and peers; update onboarding training on control cycle as well as annual updates.
- Develop and update training in collaboration with Healthcare Quality as required by governing agencies such as DMHA, Joint Commission, CMS, and HRSA to meet compliance and remediate any concerns identified through audits and other quality/performance assessment activities with clinical practice.
- Develop training based on integrative care practice and clinical goals across service areas.
- Collaborate with Medical Director, VP of Clinical Services, and assigned content experts to develop or source training for medical service lines, such as medical support staff, primary care, psychiatry, dentistry, and optometry.
- Collaborate with training department to develop and source training for Bowen Health biannual conference consistent with Bowen clinical goals and direction.
- Develop evidence-based training for service expansions as needed for Bowen Health clinical initiatives such as Addiction Treatment specialists, group treatment, treatment for Smoking Cessation, Weight Management, Reducing Infant Mortality, etc.
- Live in house “trainer-the-trainer” certification as designated for trainings such as CPI, MI, ASAM, and Mental Health First Aid Adult and Youth certification.
- Training will have clear objectives that are tied to organizational priorities and desired outcome. Training will have a post-training assessment to demonstrate learning and identify learning gaps. There will be a survey to gauge learning satisfaction and perceived value of training. It will also provide a follow-up plan for supervisor or peer observation to assess on-the-job application of learned knowledge/skill.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Clinical knowledge across behavioral health disciplines and service lines.
- Evidence-based curriculum design for diverse clinical roles (therapists, counselors, consultants, etc.)
- Instructional design proficiency using adult learning principles.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external teams.
- Clear and persuasive communication for presenting training goals, outcomes, and compliance needs.
- Project management to oversee multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in MSW, MS, MA, Ph.D, or Psy.D
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical experience in behavioral health setting, with 3+ years of experience in clinical training, education, or professional development preferred.
- Certification or Professional Licensure: Licensure in Indiana in clinical discipline identified above.
