Schedule: Full-Time (Day & Night Shifts Available)

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Shenandoah is a 50-bed specialty hospital in north Houston providing inpatient care for both children and adults. We serve higher-acuity patients with complex medical and behavioral diagnoses, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic illnesses, and adolescents with co-occurring conditions.

Position Summary
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct care and behavioral support to patients with medical and psychiatric disorders. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, PCAs assist with daily living needs, therapeutic activities, and ensure the environment remains safe, structured, and compassionate.
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, feeding, positioning, and grooming.
Observe, record, and report changes in patients’ behavior, mental status, and vital signs.
Support individualized care plans, daily group programs, and therapeutic interventions.
Follow facility policies and behavioral health safety procedures to maintain a therapeutic environment.
Collaborate with nurses, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and therapists to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
Assist in crisis prevention and intervention to maintain patient and staff safety.
Licensure / Certification
CPR / BLS certification required upon hire.
