About the Role:
Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights? Delta Health is seeking a Data Analyst Specialist to support strategic and operational initiatives across our healthcare organization. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and develop solutions that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
This is a key role for someone with a strong background in healthcare revenue cycle analytics who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-depth, data-driven analysis of hospital revenue streams and operations to support executive decision-making.
- Collaborate with General Accounting, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Patient Financial Services, Clinical departments, IT, and Managed Care to reduce denials and accelerate A/R performance.
- Create executive-level reports and visualizations to communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead enhancements to data integration pipelines and reporting frameworks in partnership with IT and EHR teams.
- Train and support staff on data tools, reporting systems, and revenue cycle best practices.
- Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Analyze operational, financial, and clinical data to identify trends and performance improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and visualization tools using Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
- Translate complex data findings into actionable insights and clear presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements in collaboration with department leaders.
- Support compliance, quality initiatives, and performance improvement through data analysis and metric tracking.
- Automate data collection and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to data governance standards and compliance with privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a healthcare revenue cycle analyst or similar role.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle data analytics, DRG assignments, ICD-10 codes, and regulatory guidelines.
- Familiarity with CMS 1500 and UB04 billing forms, claims, coding, EOBs, and insurance billing (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Experience with EHR and revenue cycle systems (Meditech and Athena preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
