Job Summary:

As a Medical Receptionist at Native Wound Therapy, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and efficient experience. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our clinical team and creating an organized environment that promotes patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing them with information and assistance as needed.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with mobile care providers to optimize patient flow.
  • Answer phone calls, responding to inquiries and directing calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure that all documentation is accurate and up to date in electronic health records (experience with EMR systems is a MUST!).
  • Perform data entry and update insurance information for patients.
  • Assist with insurance verification and communicate with billing staff regarding patient accounts.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and conducive to a positive patient experience.
  • Handle correspondence and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical office training or certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role preferred.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Strong customer service skills and a compassionate attitude towards patients.
