The Job

A successful candidate for this role will possess strong interpersonal and hospitality skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position is best suited for someone with open evening availability and an interest in working with a small team in a live music environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Greet guests upon arrival at the venue for ticketed events, creating a warm and welcoming environment while also maintaining a tidy door booth and venue lobby area
  • Manage public access to Eulogy by scanning and/or selling tickets at the door using technology provided by the venue's ticketing platform; manage door technology and equipment, ensuring it is secured, charged and functioning properly. Report any related issues to the Eulogy Venue Manager.
  • Check IDs, verifying authenticity and guest age; adhere to all venue and show-specific age restrictions by clearly marking the hands of guests under the age of 21; manage and verify guest lists provided by the venue and/or artist's team; wristband ticket-holders and approved guests upon entry. 
  • Distribute merchandise to VIP ticket holders as requested by the artist or their management.
  • Hang show posters in the venue, as directed by the Eulogy Venue Manager and/or the Eulogy Lead Bartender.
  • Assist with monitoring venue capacity and support basic and show specific crowd management principles and policies within the venue. 
  • Report any security risks, guest issues or facility and maintenance concerns to the Eulogy Venue Manager (or Head of Security if applicable).
  • Utilize company-wide software(s) for information sharing and communication.
  • Check-in and communicate with bartenders, sound engineers, and artist tour managers prior to opening doors to the public.
  • Assist with guest check-in at other ticketed Burial events as needed.
  • Perform additional auxiliary tasks assigned by the Eulogy Venue Manager, Burial Programming Manager, or Eulogy Lead Bartender.

  • Accurately checks IDs, manages ticketing and guest lists, applies age restrictions, and ensures compliance with venue and show policies.
  • Communicates clearly with guests, coworkers, and artist teams; actively listens to concerns; relays issues to management or security as needed.
  • Works cooperatively with bartenders, sound engineers, tour managers, and fellow staff to support smooth event operations.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, enforces policies consistently, manages door equipment responsibly, and follows through on assigned tasks.
  • Responds calmly to changing situations (capacity issues, guest concerns, or security risks) and takes appropriate action when needed.
  • Maintains familiarity with Eulogy, Burial, and show-specific policies, ensuring proper enforcement and smooth event flow.
  • Upholds Burial’s standards with honesty, accountability, and consistency.
  • Models professionalism in both work output and interpersonal interactions, reflecting the company’s core values daily.
  • Builds positive connections with coworkers and other departments to support cohesion and collaboration.


Who We’re Looking For

  • Punctual and dependable, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and address guest inquiries, issues, and concerns.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality, retail, or a venue environment preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a loud music environment with varying levels of lighting, including strobe or flashing lights.
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive in crowded or high-traffic spaces.
  • Ability to move quickly in response to guest or security needs.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in a noisy environment.
