The Senior Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist is a lead member of the accounts payable team and is responsible for ensuring the timely processing of accounts payable for ChildCareGroup, a $35M nonprofit organization. This position reports to the Controller and interfaces with staff across the organization.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Manage full cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding and payment processing.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and service providers
- Supervises the work of other Accounts Payable Specialists
- Reconcile AP ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Collaborate with procurement and other business units to streamline AP workflows
- Process payroll, ensuring accuracy
- Assist with month-end close activities related to AP and payroll.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in business with a minimum of one college level accounting class required.
- Minimum 5 years’ AP and payroll experience required, including a working knowledge of accounts payable systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Experience in accounts payable/general ledger and payroll platforms is required; knowledge of Sage Intacct, and PN3 platforms a plus
- High level of attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines required
- Ability to work well with people, within and outside the organization
- Prompt and regular attendance required
Equipment
- Laptop, cell phones, printers, fax machines, scanners, and general office equipment
Compliance
- Must have a valid driver's license if applicable.
- Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements.
- Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel locally or out of town as required.
- Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable.
- Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment. These include credit, FBI fingerprinting, child abuse and neglect, federal, state, local, and sex offender background checks. Background check requirements may be expanded at the discretion of ChildCareGroup and Partner Programs.
