Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a key partner to leadership and employees, providing comprehensive HR support across the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, and offboarding. This role will have a heavy emphasis on recruiting top talent for both hourly and salaried positions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The HR Generalist will ensure that HR practices align with company goals, values, and compliance standards while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. This is a temporary onsite role to support the Camarillo, CA manufacturing facility. This role will also provide remote support to employees in San Francisco, CA and Piedmont, South Carolina. The role is anticipated to be about a 6-month assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly production, skilled trades, and salaried roles, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to employees and supervisors, providing guidance on employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management.
- Administer and maintain HR programs including attendance, benefits, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and HRIS recordkeeping.
- Ensure legal and policy compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company standards.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Assist with training and development efforts to enhance workforce capability and support career growth.
- Analyze HR data and metrics (turnover, recruitment trends, attendance) to recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide multi-site and remote employee support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or in related field or equivalent required with 3-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have knowledge of California labor laws, and HR compliance.
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Required Skills:
- Language: Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and peers.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mathematical Ability: Strong analytical skills with acute attention to detail. Presents numerical data effectively.
- Other Abilities: Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite. Must have strong knowledge in California labor and employment law. Must be able to properly document and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Must have knowledge to apply general use of databases/spreadsheets. Must be proficient with HRIS data management and reporting. Must be able to manage and prioritize workflow. Must have strong knowledge with HR audits and reporting. Must have proven success managing high-volume recruitment in a fast-paced setting. Must have experience with CA labor laws and compliance. Must be proficient with HRIS systems and reporting.
Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand and sit 6 to 8 hours a day. Must be able to work with their hands, arms and be extremely accurate. Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, or kneel on a regular basis. On occasion, the employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Customary physical demands for an office environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high-speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. outside weather conditions, machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
