The Analytical Laboratory Department has an opening on first shift. Additional time might be required to be worked during busy periods.
Responsibilities:
• Reviews generated analytical data before assignment of official doses or analytical results.
• Collects documentation, performs evaluations, and corrects anomalies in laboratory activities and implements preventative measures to eliminate reoccurrence of incidents.
• Conducts surveillance of operational aspects and associated work activities of laboratory operations personnel and implements corrective actions as defined.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions.
• Required to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and files.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions.
• Must be familiar with and have a working knowledge of analytical equipment.
• Must be able to utilize known quantities to calibrate equipment as assigned.
• Must be able to work under little supervision.
• Must be able to perform basic statistical calculations (average and standard deviation) and convert data to appropriate units.
• Must have computer knowledge and experience with various software programs (e.g., word processing and spreadsheets).
• Very good communication skills
• Must have some mechanical aptitude and be a quick learner.
• Must have successfully passed comprehensive written examinations and safety training as required.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
• High school diploma
• Six hours of college level mathematics, chemistry, physics, or biology related courses preferred
• B.S. Degree in STEM Discipline preferred
Special Requirements:
- Prior Landauer experience and knowledge of various Landauer dosimeter types will be a considering factor
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Office programs (Word/Excel)
- Must have the ability to work alone as well as part of a team
