Position Overview:
Reporting to Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations, HALO is seeking an experienced and dynamic Infrastructure Architect with a proven track record in developing, implementing and maintain on-premise and cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our hybrid infrastructure, spanning on-premise, and cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, etc…).
The Infrastructure Architect will play a crucial role in driving innovation, standardization, optimization, and compliance with security and scalability requirements of the business. This role will work closely with other leaders, within the IT space as well as cross-functionally, to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s technology infrastructure. This role is a technical hands-on role with some vendor management responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic Leadership
· Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-cloud strategy aligned with organizational goals
· Develop and enforce infrastructure strategy and standards
· Ensure administrative and technical compliance to infrastructure and security standards and policies
· Provide strategic direction for the adoption of emerging cloud technologies to enhance business operations
· Stay up to date with new technologies and best practices, to assure operational reliability, productivity, scalability, and security compliance
· Collaborate with other architects and engineers to provide fast, reliable, and scalable solutions
· Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team
· Mentor and guide staff, where needed, on best practices
Cloud Infrastructure Design, Implementation, Management and Support
· Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions
· Ensure the efficient utilization of cloud resources and optimize costs
· Monitor and report on cloud infrastructure availability, reliability, fault tolerance
· Develop service agreements and performance metrics for cloud IT services
· Identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements through the effective management of services, solutions, technologies, and vendors
· Consolidate technologies, centralize technology management, and simplify infrastructure architecture
· Perform other related tasks and assignments, as required
Security and Compliance
· Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments
· Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
· Enforce compliance with ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
· Implement monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue identification and resolution
· Continuously optimize and fine-tune cloud infrastructure for optimal performance
Vendor Management
· Collaborate with cloud service providers and manage vendor relationships
· Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance cloud capabilities
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
· Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans
· Conduct regular drills and assessments to ensure preparedness
Documentation and Training
· Maintain comprehensive documentation for all cloud infrastructure components
· Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for team members
Work Hours and Travel Expectations
· This role may require occasional on-call/after-business-hours availability, as required to support deployments, resolve production problems, or respond to technical emergencies.
· This role is remote and may require some travel between the following areas: Sterling, IL AND/OR Oakbrook, IL
Qualifications
· At least 10 years of hands-on technical experience with infrastructure design, development, engineering and support
· At least 7 years developing cloud infrastructure architecture within Azure and AWS
· Experience with Good Engineering Practices (GxP) (desired)
· Experience working in software engineering industry (preferred)
· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred)
· Exceptional collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills
· Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities
· Proficient in presenting to a variety of stakeholders
· Strong writing, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· High technical aptitude and a strong commitment to staying informed of current trends
Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is between $130,000.00 - $190,000.00 annually. Please note that this pay range serves as a general guideline and reflects a broad spectrum of labor markets across the US. While it is uncommon for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range, compensation decisions are influenced by various factors. At HALO, these include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, location, education and training, key skills, internal equity, external market data, and broader market and business considerations.
