About the Role:
The Inventory Control position within the manufacturing industry is pivotal to ensuring the accuracy, availability, and efficient management of all inventory items throughout the production lifecycle. This role focuses on maintaining optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. The successful candidate will analyze inventory data, coordinate with procurement and production teams, and implement control measures to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce costs. They will also be responsible for conducting regular audits and reconciling discrepancies to uphold data integrity. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and software.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills to interpret inventory data accurately.
- Ability to perform physical inventory counts and maintain detailed records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related discipline.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., APICS CPIM).
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for manufacturing needs without overstocking.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to forecast inventory requirements and plan replenishments.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, slow-moving items, and potential issues affecting inventory accuracy.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, variances, and key performance indicators for management review.
- Assist in the development and execution of inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain compliance with company policies.
- Utilize inventory management software to track and update inventory records in real-time.
