Are you meticulous with data and passionate about maintaining accurate health records? Ornge is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Management Administrator to support our Decision Support Team in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of patient information.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for accurate data entry of handwritten call reports, organizing patient records, and coordinating documentation workflows that directly support our life-saving operations. Your precision and commitment to quality will help optimize processes and ensure reliable access to critical health data across the organization.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates the data entry process of Air Ambulance Call Reports (AACR) including data entry validation and reliability testing procedures.
  • Handles scanning, indexing, and data entry of Air Ambulance Call Reports (AACR)/TMP Patch Sheets.
  • Completes data entry of high acuity and clinically complex calls.
  • Performs daily reconciliation and audit of call reports reviewing accuracy and completeness for analytic purposes.
  • Generates tracking reports for workload balancing and related quality monitoring activities.
  • Act as the "first-line" gatekeeper of electronic documents, responsible for verification of information, and ensure correctness and completeness in accordance with all corporate and legislated guidelines.
  • Review and validate the necessary health records and other related information requested meet the PHIPA, FIPPA, and related legislative guidelines to process and release information.
  • Adheres to legislative timelines when compiling/gathering documents for “access to information” requests for privacy officer/senior legal counsel.
  • Coordinates receipts, processing, and reconciliation of electronic patient care records (ePCR) and related health care documentation such as patch records.
  • Maintains tracking system of all information received for ePCR application.
  • Coordinates all activities related to on-site and off-site storage of health records including the organization and maintenance of an electronic filing system.
  • Maintains a tracking system to monitor the receipt of patient health records from service providers, requests for services, and patient health record and reconciliation activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Health Management, Health Information Management or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of minimum experience with data entry is required.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting (such as a hospital or EMS), particularly with patient information, would be considered an asset.
