Junior Equity Trader presso Caxton

About the role:

The Execution Trading team form a pivotal part of the global investment team and work closely with Portfolio Managers to provide market information, suggest trade ideas and review liquidity. You will be reporting to our Head of Execution Trading. This is a new headcount as we grow our execution desk in London. The candidate will have a strong analytical background and deep understanding of global equity markets.

Joining as a Junior Equity Trader, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting day-to-day execution across global equities, with a long-term development path to broaden responsibilities across asset classes and evolve into a cross-asset trading role.

Responsibilities:

• Best execution across full range of equity products (e.g. single stock and derivatives).
• Application and understanding of execution algorithms and EMS
• Analyse large data-sets to guide automation and refinement of execution processes
• Post-trade and end-of-day position reconciliation.
• Interface directly with Portfolio Managers, Brokers, Senior Management, Compliance and Risk.
• Provide daily market color as well as ad hoc research reports.
• Comply with relevant regulation and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• 3-5 years of equity trading/trading assistant experience, ideally within hedge fund or sell-side environment.
• Quantitatively focused with strong analytical, investigative, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Trading experience across multiple markets, geographies, and time zones.
• Strong knowledge of execution algorithms.
• Data management skills.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
