Description

Shipping and receiving team members keep the supply chain moving at M&D Supply. This job includes shipping and receiving activities that insure M&D is “in stock”. The focus of the work is getting the right merchandise to the right place at the right time when customers need it. Shipping and receiving team members play a vital role, as they support the retail and commercial sales operations of all M&D locations.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Prepare loads for delivery and have trucks ready to go for delivery drivers.
• Examine shipment contents and compare records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Keep WH5 organized to maintain accurate inventory.
• Unload store deliveries when necessary.
• Receive merchandise and sort merchandise for accurate check in.
• Receive merchandise into computer system using prevailing receiving procedures when necessary.
• Notify Receiving Administrator of any problems needing addressing during computer receiving.
• Transport merchandise to salesfloor for stocking efficiently.
• Prepare outgoing merchandise for shipment (UPS).
• Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery materials.
• Clean warehouse
• Attend store meetings.
• “On site” attendance must fall within the company standards as outlined in the handbook.
• Any other tasks required as determined by management

• Must be 18 years old or older

Work Requirements

• Physical activity includes: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, keyboarding, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to move/load merchandise weighing up to 100 lbs. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds from the ground to waist level.
• Visual acuity requirements: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation machines; using measurement devices. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. The worker is required to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
• Equipment/Programs: Must be able to operate various equipment including must not limited to: Forklift, RF gun, Computer work station, Eagle Browser, pallet jack, forklift.

Working Conditions

The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise the cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, working on ladders and high places.
