Are you mechanically inclined and live and breathe anything to do with maintenance? Do you also enjoy managing maintenance people in a highly technical manufacturing environment? Madison-Kipp is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Manager to join our Madison-Kipp Team.

POSITION SUMMARY

This person will manage the Maintenance departments for all Wisconsin based Madison-Kipp facilities. Under minimal supervision perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the facilities’ business goals and objectives. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise skilled tradespeople, facilities maintenance and machine maintenance crews. This includes selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures. 
  • Provide training opportunities to staff to further employees’ knowledge. 
  • Coordinate procurement of maintenance materials, capital equipment, and services. 
  • Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. 
  • Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions. 
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations. 
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Heavy Manufacturing Environment.  MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic.  These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy.  In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.

  • Associate’s degree in maintenance or management field preferred
  • Ten years of diecasting manufacturing maintenance experience including five years of management experience

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

 

JOB SKILLS

  • Technical leadership and knowledge 
  • Strong manufacturing maintenance skills, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, programming and repair of: 
  • Hydraulic systems 
  • Pneumatic systems 
  • Electrical systems
  • Strong working knowledge of programmable logic controller’s 
  • Robust communication skills

  • Less than 5%
