We are currently seeking an Interiorscapes Plant Technician with experience working with Interior Plants or Horticulture experience to join our Interiorscapes Maintenance Team. Responsibilities 

The Interiorscapes Technician is responsible for ensuring the continued quality and care of interior plants for commercial customers. This role involves traveling to various client locations in the Dane County area to maintain plant health and appearance.

• Plant Maintenance: Maintain the appearance and health of interior plants at all assigned client locations.
• Plant Care: Ensure that plants receive adequate watering, pruning, pest control, and grooming.
• Plant Grooming: Deadhead and clean plants to maintain their appearance.
• Soil Management: Add soil as needed to maintain plant health.
• Secure Installation: Ensure plants are securely installed in decorative containers with adequate moss.
• Fertilization: Fertilize plants monthly from March through October or as needed.
• Disease Monitoring: Monitor plants for diseases and insects, and work with others to effectively treat problems.
• Plant Replacement: Replace plants as needed.
• Waste Disposal: Dispose of plant waste and debris from job sites in the appropriate receptacles.
• Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner, ensuring that any concerns they voice are addressed respectfully and promptly.
• Time Tracking: Track installation and maintenance time spent at accounts using our time tracking system.
• Miscellaneous Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed, such as cleaning planters, installing and delivering plant material, and assisting in receiving plant orders.
• Team Support: Assist or back up other technicians during holiday seasons and vacations as necessary.
• Safety Compliance: Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Indoor Work: Primarily performed indoors in various conditions depending on the client's location.
• Weather Exposure: Some exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather (rain, snow, heat, or cold).
• Noise Levels: The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate.
• Chemical Exposure: Duties of this position expose the individual to chemicals and fertilizers.

Schedule

• Part-Time: This is a part-time year-round position with flexible hours (approximately 10-15 hours per week).
• Flexible Hours: Ability to start and end at any time as long as it covers our operating hours.

Skills You Need

• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with plants and flowers is preferred.
• Horticulture Experience: 1-2 years of horticulture experience.
• Plant Knowledge: Knowledge of interior plants and diseases is necessary to complete the essential duties of the position.
• Transportation: Must have reliable transportation. A Bruce Company vehicle can be provided, or if preferred, a personal vehicle can be used to commute between client locations (mileage reimbursements will be provided).
