Piano Instructor for Private Lessons (PT) presso Old Town School of Folk Music

Summary: The Old Town School of Folk Music seeks a part-time piano instructor to teach private lessons at our Lincoln Square and Lincoln Park locations.

Schedule: Weekends and evenings

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Communicate with students and parents directly

• Independently manage time

• Organize curriculum for each student

• Notify supervisor of absences and maintain a consistent teaching schedule

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or Performance preferred

• Minimum two years of teaching experience preferred

• Experience teaching private piano lessons preferred

• High level of musicianship and personal responsibility

• Ability to teach beginning through advanced levels required

• Ability to teach young children through adults

• Candidate with a knowledge of diverse musical repertoire preferred

• Multi-instrumentalist and ability to teach online a plus

• Must be able to work weekends and evenings

Instructor Hourly Pay: $33/Hour

Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music (“OTSFM”) is the largest community school of the arts in the U.S. and a non-profit organization committed to celebrating American music and global cultures.
