Phoenix, LLC a Division of SHINE Technologies is seeking an Accelerator Operator  who will maintain innovative nuclear machinery to enable high throughput imaging operations, collect and analyze key performance indication data (KPIs), and coordinate with the Phoenix Service Technician to facilitate timely maintenance and repairs to the machine.


Ideally, Accelerator Operators will support the NDT process including certifying radiographic film. The candidate must be capable of interpreting radiographs made from various processes in accordance with, but not limited to, ASTM.


The Accelerator Operator will also play a key role in supporting Neutron Radiography operations. This position focuses on executing critical pre-imaging and post-imaging tasks, including fixturing, tagging, and managing shipping and receiving workflows. The ideal candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of imaging processes and ensure exacting standards of quality and efficiency are maintained throughout.


The base salary range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 per hour plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pre-Imaging Preparation: Perform fixturing and tagging of components prior to imaging, ensuring proper alignment and identification for radiographic analysis.
  • Post-Imaging Handling: Manage the handling, tagging, and documentation of components after imaging, maintaining traceability and quality standards.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate the packaging, labeling, and shipment of imaged components and receive incoming materials, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance programs, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly.
  • Operate and Optimize: Use training and experience to adjust machine parameters in order to optimize machine output and minimize wear and tear.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping: Extract and report key performance indicators for the machine and supporting subsystems. Maintain accurate records of imaging activities, component status, and shipping logs to support traceability and quality assurance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with imaging technicians, quality engineers, and logistics personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines related to radiographic operations and material handling.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.

Requirements

  • Preferred Associate’s degree in engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, Physics, or related technologies, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical environment.
  • Experience with maintaining and operating mission-critical machinery.
  • Ability to pass medical examination as required for NDT personnel.
  • Ability to pass a background check and be eligible for licensure through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Availability to work weekends as part of a regular schedule to support operational needs.
