JOB TITLE: Loan Servicing Title Specialist
REPORTS TO: Loan Servicing Supervisor
SUPERVISES: None
EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt
Starting Hourly Rate: $20.50
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Manage all aspects of vehicle title work to ensure accuracy for security and claim processing, including utilization of electronic titling system. Monitor the Vehicle Title Tracking, Title in Suspense, Unrecognized Titles, Title Discrepancies and Received Titles reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process vehicle titles for new, refinanced, and indirect loans, ensuring timely and accurate lien perfection.
- Verify VINs, lienholder information, and borrower details; gather and review title work submitted by branches.
- Coordinate with MVD vendors for title processing; review and reconcile billing.
- Maintain knowledge of multi-state MVD requirements and resolve issues with state agencies as needed.
- Provide weekly title status updates to Branch Managers and Director of Member Experience and recommend follow-up actions to perfect liens.
- Communicate with members, staff, dealers, and third-party vendors to resolve title, lien, or registration issues.
- Address complex insurance and Letter of Guarantee questions with professionalism and accuracy.
- Monitor regulatory changes related to title and registration; update internal procedures accordingly.
- Act as the primary point of contact for SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act) -related inquiries, ensuring accurate application of protections for eligible servicemembers.
- Assist with internal and external audits; ensure compliance with all documentation standards.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations, complete required compliance training, and protect member confidentiality.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Release vehicle liens upon loan payoff.
- File and process claims on GAP and Warranty for members.
- Interpret and apply SCRA guidelines to applicable loan products, including rate reductions, and fee waivers.
- Identify and implement procedural updates based on regulatory changes affecting vehicle titles and SCRA compliance.
- Gain and retain a high-level knowledge of all TFCU products, policies and procedures.
- Adhere to TFCU’s attendance and punctuality policy.
- Maintain a professional businesslike appearance in accordance with TFCU’s dress code policy.
- Engage in behavior that aligns with the credit union’s cultural beliefs.
- Backup Loan Servicing as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of financial institution experience preferred, minimum one (1) year loan servicing or administrative role experience required.
Qualifications:
- Ability to gain and retain knowledge of vehicle title work processing.
- Ability to gain and retain knowledge of the Summit operating system.
- Ability to prioritize workflow and accurately complete multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software including Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and researching abilities to service accounts.
- Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with members.
Availability: Monday through Friday as scheduled.
