The OpportunityÂ
Design of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection services within the built environment with an emphasis on sustainable designÂ
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for sophisticated buildingsÂ
Perform engineering analysis and modelling, including whole building load calculations and energy analysis, facade thermal analysis, and airflow modellingÂ
Model mechanical pipework, ductwork, and plant within Revit MEP, and carry out engineering calculations and analysisÂ
Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshopsÂ
Write reports detailing calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical informationÂ
The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and outstanding organization skills required for our constantly evolving environmentÂ
Influence with design on sustainable outcome for our clients to align with Arupâs sustainability commitmentsÂ
Attending sites for design or construction reviews Â
Support towards gaining professional registration with PEO/OIQ/APEGAÂ

Is this role right for you?Â
Required:Â
Bachelorâs degree in mechanical, architectural engineering, building sciences, or any relevant engineering degreeÂ
Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics, fluid dynamics or HVAC designÂ
Developing curiosity about the built environmentÂ
Demonstrated time management skillsÂ
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible wayÂ
Attitude of taking initiative, passion, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativityÂ
Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed for team-based workingÂ
Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levelsÂ
Must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the futureÂ

Eligible to become a member of the PEO/OIQ/APEGAÂ
Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higherÂ
Curiosity about sustainable building designÂ
Internship experience in engineering-related firmÂ
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering examinationÂ
University course experience in Energy/thermal modeling experience, Revit or 3D modeling experience and/or sustainabilityÂ
Computer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper)Â
University course experience in heat transfer and thermodynamics, fluid dynamics or HVAC designÂ
Proven leadership experienceÂ

Toronto Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $70,500 to $72,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.Â
