SUMMARY
The District Health Compliance Coordinator is a district-wide Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for providing and coordinating health services across all campuses. This position ensures students with health needs receive safe and appropriate medical support while promoting wellness and supporting academic success. The District Health Compliance Coordinator oversees medical plans, provides medical input for 504s and IEPs, collaborates with sending schools for secondary students, and serves as the primary contact for initiating adult medical 504 plans. The position also provides professional development to staff, responds to health emergencies, and ensures compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with an unencumbered Registered Nursing license with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing required. Minimum of 5 years related experience. Must hold current CPR and First Aid certification with training in epinephrine auto-injector use and training in seizures and diabetics. Working knowledge of special education law as it relates to health accommodations (504, IDEA). Preference may be given for experience in school or community health.

Travel across the district is required; must possess a valid Class D Oklahoma driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience to operate district vehicles and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Serve as the primary district contact for initiating and coordinating adult medical 504 plans.
- Develop, implement, and oversee medical plans for students with chronic or complex health conditions.
- Provide ongoing professional development for staff at all campuses regarding health needs, emergency procedures, health plans, and health-related accommodations.
- Collaborate with 504 coordinators and IEP teams to provide medical input and ensure appropriate accommodations are included in plans, attending meetings as needed.
- Partner with coordinators at sending schools to ensure continuity of services for secondary students.
- Administer and monitor student medications in compliance with physician orders, parental consent, and district policy.
- Maintain confidential student health records and ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and district/state mandates.
- Respond promptly to health emergencies including allergic reactions, diabetic crises, seizures, and injuries; coordinate with EMS as necessary.
- Assist with district-wide emergency preparedness planning and staff training.
- Prepare required health-related reports for state and local agencies.
- Act as a resource for staff and students, providing health education on wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Participate in staff development, in-service training, and professional growth opportunities.
- Participate in state required online or in person training for accreditation at each campus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
