DENTAL HYGIENIST
Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Dental Hygienist. This position is a part-time, within the Dental Department, working at our 1021 Broadway location.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure
- Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
- Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
- Take X-rays of patients' teeth and develop them for dentist's use
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
- Regularly and consistently meet quality and patient care standards established by management.
- Assist in patient recruitment and growth of clinic
- Performing documentation and establishing and maintaining patients' history
- Chart dental conditions based on dentist's observations and evaluations
- Attend continuing education classes to maintain certification requirements
- Conduct department activities and responsibilities as assigned by the dental director, including administrative and front office support, regulatory checklists and supply ordering
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygienist Program
- Possession of licensure to practice as a dental hygienist issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- At least one year experience in a dental office as a dental hygienist
- Anesthetic certification preferred
Rate: $34.00-$38.00 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
