We are currently hiring Unarmed Security Officers to join our team at a site located near Bell Road and 7th Street in Phoenix, AZ.
Position Summary
The Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment. This position involves patrolling assigned areas, monitoring surveillance systems, and ensuring the protection of staff, visitors, and property. Officers must demonstrate professionalism, strong observation skills, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
This role requires proactive surveillance, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to safety. The ideal candidate will inspire confidence, demonstrate respect for authority, and uphold BGI Security’s values of integrity, vigilance, and service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a visible security presence
Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles and personnel
Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances or suspicious activity
Secure all exits, doors, and windows at the end of operations
Monitor surveillance cameras to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
Escort or remove unauthorized individuals from the property
Assist employees and visitors as needed
Complete detailed daily activity and incident reports
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners as necessary
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management
Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings
Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs
Required Qualifications
Valid AZ DPS Unarmed Guard Card (required)
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
Knowledge of legal guidelines for security and public safety
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong observational, reporting, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with surveillance systems and reporting tools
First Aid/BLS and self-defense training preferred
Tech-savvy with experience in electronic reporting
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Bilingual ability is a plus
Physical Requirements
Consistent attendance and punctuality
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching
Comfortable entering/exiting patrol vehicles or golf carts
May include:
Exposure to varying temperatures or weather conditions
Use of PPE when required
Occasional shift work, weekend availability, or on-call assignments

Pay: DOE ($19–$21/hour)
