Jefferson Community Health & Life is looking for someone to work in their Facilities/Maintenance Department.
Hours:
Rotating shift, 8-4:30 for 2 weeks per month
6-2:30 for 2 weeks per month
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs routine and emergency repairs to equipment, buildings, and grounds to ensure safe and effective operations. Supports preventive maintenance and assists with construction and renovation projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Current driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes.
Performs Repairs and Maintenance
- Completes repairs on equipment, buildings, and grounds, including new construction as needed.
- Works with outside vendors and contractors to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Analyzes repair needs, follows safety procedures, and completes repairs efficiently.
- Orders necessary parts with supervisor approval.
Responds to Work Orders
- Responds promptly to assigned work orders and requests to maintain efficient operations.
- Completes tasks accurately and promptly, minimizing need for rework.
Performs Preventive Maintenance
- Participates in planned maintenance activities and regular inspections per the preventive maintenance schedule.
Performs Skilled Trade Work
- Performs basic HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and data communication maintenance as needed.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards while performing all repairs.
Other Duties
- Rotates on-call and weekend duties.
- Runs errands as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor of Facilities.
Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of JCH&L operations and requirements of the JCH&L Compliance Program, including but not limited to the Service Excellence Standards, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.
Participates in professional growth and development requirements and opportunities by attending department meetings, participation in required and voluntary educational programs and in-service meetings, including current literature, workshops, and other developmental opportunities.
