Join our Legacy  

Reporting to warehouse lead, the machine operator tends machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties.

Your Contribution to Excellence 

  • Starts machine, operate, and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. 
  • Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor. Removes cans/cases jammed or dented. 
  • Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications. 
  • Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product. 
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels. Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices. 
  • Positions and holds container in machine and depresses pedal, presses button, or moves lever to clean, glue, label, sew, or staple container. 
  • Cuts stencils and stencils information on container such as lot number or shipping destination.
  • Make minors adjustment if needed.
  • Immediately notify supervisor of major equipment malfunction.
  • Follow all good manufacturing practices.
  • Meet all productivity and efficiency, standards as outlined by management.
  • Maintain work area clean, neat, and orderly condition.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, with or without advance notice.
  • Must be available to work any shift and weekends as necessary.
  • Immediately report all food safety and food quality problems to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What you Bring to the Table:

  • High school diploma, GED or technical college diploma; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
  • Prior experience as an electrician in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Proficient in safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and distance vision.
