Who are we looking for?
Due to a significant state-wide project win, we’re seeking expressions of interest from professionals interested in joining the GHD Water business across Tasmania. Whether you're a young professional or a seasoned expert, this is your opportunity to contribute to this renowned project and client, in a region known for its natural beauty and engineering challenges.
What sets this opportunity apart is the long pipeline of work—often considered a luxury in the consulting world. This sustained workload offers stability, career growth, and the chance to be part of a team delivering meaningful infrastructure outcomes over the long term.
As part of GHD’s dynamic, multidisciplinary team of water professionals, you will focus on water and wastewater treatment, network design, stormwater management, and play a key role in supporting our clients to deliver resilient and innovative water solutions throughout Tasmania, Australia and beyond.
Working with a passionate and high performing team, these positions offer the chance to work on complex, high-impact projects that support sustainable water management and community safety and will see you involved in:
- Providing specialised technical services to clients on a diverse range of water-related projects including feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction support.
- Leading the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and stormwater systems.
- Supporting integrated water management strategies and contributing to climate resilience and circular economy initiatives.
- Actively participate in client relationship management, business development, development of proposals, reports and technical analysis.
- Providing support for a range of other supporting disciplines including geotechnical investigations and construction support.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil, Environmental, or Chemical) or higher qualifications with relevant experience in water infrastructure design, construction, or management.
- Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership (or already Chartered for senior roles).
- Knowledge of design and operation of water and wastewater treatment systems, water distribution and sewerage networks, and stormwater management.
- Experience with investigation and construction phase services, as well as an understanding of water quality, regulatory compliance, and asset management practices.
- For the right candidate, we will consider a part-time appointment (minimum of 0.8 FTE).
Enjoy a lifestyle that balances professional growth with access to nature, community and culture. If you’re not already residing in Tasmania, relocation assistance can be discussed. Lower cost of living than mainland cities will give you more financial freedom to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without making sacrifices on advancing your career.
