Mercury System's software team is seeking a Software Test Engineer III to ensure our embedded processor systems meet the highest standards of quality and performance. In this role, you’ll work closely with software developers to validate system functionality and contribute to the delivery of mission-critical solutions. You’ll be at the forefront of testing cutting-edge technologies, helping to shape the reliability and excellence of products designed for national defense.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Analyze and provide feedback on product requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, and testability 
  • Develop test plans & test cases that map to product requirements
  • Procure equipment, configure test plans, and install firmware & software components
  • Execute manual test plans
  • Automate test cases 
  • Serve as the SQA Lead in project meetings and bug sessions for assigned projects
  • Document and communicate detailed bug reports
  • Compile and deliver final test result reports

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical field
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of software testing experience 

  • Advanced proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including installation, configuration, networking, kernel patching, toolsets
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality
  • Hands on experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages such as python and shell scripting
  • Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, BitBucket is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and curiosity to investigate technical issues and identify root causes.
