One of our key roles is the Technical Services Superintendent for Gwalia Underground. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the success of our mining operations. You will lead with excellence, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives to optimise production, maximise efficiency, and uphold our commitment to industry-leading safety standards.

Key responsibilities:
Lead and Inspire: Support a talented technical services team towards achieving KPI’s and operational excellence, as well as coaching and mentoring them on their professional development.
Innovate and Implement: Develop and execute long-term mine plans, leveraging geological insights, orebody modelling, and cutting-edge equipment capabilities.
Data-Driven Decisions: Utilise advanced mining software and modelling tools to analyse complex data, optimise mine designs, and accurately forecast production outputs.
Cost Optimisation: Collaboratively monitor and manage mining costs across the function, to maximise budget efficiency and drive cost-effective practices.
Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical guidance, coaching, and support to the technical services function, addressing complex challenges and implementing industry best practices for safe and efficient mining operations.
Culture of Innovation: Actively contribute to cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the technical services team and throughout the organisation.
We’re excited to hear from you if you have:
A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering (bonus points for an advanced degree!).
Extensive hands-on experience in technical roles within the mining industry, showcasing your expertise in underground mining operations, with an exposure to deep gold mines and/or consultant time seen as an advantage.
A proven history of leadership in developing and executing mine plans across all horizons including LOM, optimising processes, and driving technical excellence.
Mastery of mining software and modelling tools, especially Deswik, to turn complex data into actionable insights.
Stellar communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate seamlessly across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
