The Position
As a Data Engineer on our team, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our employees to work effectively with data capture, computation, and operations. This is a unique opportunity to enhance our computational infrastructure and directly impact our research by providing robust software solutions. Join us to support cutting-edge biological data analysis and workflow optimization.
The Opportunity
You provide essential user support and resolve bugs for existing tools and imaging frameworks.
You develop and implement robust testing frameworks, focusing on DevOps practices to operationalize workflow solutions.
You create data standards and build conversion tools for various instrument types.
You optimize computational workloads and explore modern infrastructure solutions, including cloud environments like AWS.
You collaborate with and support Research Software Engineers in software development efforts.
Who You Are
You hold an academic degree (MSc) in bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.
You possess strong proficiency in Python and are familiar with its relevant frameworks and tools.
You have experience with modern software engineering tools and methodologies, including source control (GitHub/GitLab), CI/CD, and containerization.
You are skilled in designing scalable solutions that leverage high-performance computing or cloud environments.
You bring a solid background in exploratory data analysis and statistical methodologies.
Experience in biological data (sequencing/imaging) processing and bioinformatics.
Knowledge of machine learning.
