Summary:
The Speech Therapist role is part of the EverTrue Home healthcare team and is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in older adults in their home setting; The Speech Therapist will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving communication and/or swallowing abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conducts comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency disorders, and cognitive impairment including memory impairment
2. Develops and implements personalized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
3. Provides therapy to improve articulation, language development, voice quality, fluency, and cognitive impairment including memory impairment
4. Educates patients and their families on exercises to stimulate brain function and improve areas such as attention, focus and memory
5. Educates patients and their families on compensatory strategies and problem-solving techniques to help manage cognitive or memory deficits
6. Educates patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques
7. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
8. Monitors and documents patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
9. Stays updated on the latest research and advancements in speech therapy techniques and practices
10. Participates in continuing education and professional development opportunities

Valid state licensure to work as a speech pathologist
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Strength: may be required to lift, transfer, physically assist patients to safely move from place to place in and around the patient’s home. Proper body mechanics are expected to be used to maintain clinician and patient safety throughout treatments.
Stamina: May have to lift clients and spends much of their time on their feet either standing, walking, climbing stairs, and/or walking on indoor/outdoor surfaces. Strength and stamina are needed to do the job.
Working Environment:
A well-lighted and ventilated working area with temperature control system. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Minimal exposure to chemicals and hazardous waste. Minimal exposure to outside weather conditions. Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment is provided as needed.

EverTrue Pay & Benefits
Pay grade: 15
Pay range: $35.70/hour to $57.20/hour
