GD Resources is seeking skilled and reliable CT Technologists certified by the ARRT (CT) to support the Iowa City VA Health Care System. These technologists will deliver high-quality CT imaging services to Veterans in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Candidates must be clinically proficient, detail-oriented, and possess a strong commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties (Approx. 95% of Time):
Perform a wide range of CT imaging procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.
Accurately position patients and ensure optimal image quality.
Interpret CT orders and follow protocols as required.
Provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.
Ensure availability for on-site services during standard clinical hours and on-call support during nights, weekends, and holidays.
On-call technologists must be reachable by phone within 15 minutes and report on-site within 60 minutes.
Administrative Duties (Approx. 5% of Time):
Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
Maintain accurate records and timely documentation in the VA’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
Participate in Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Improvement (QI), and patient safety activities.
Report patient incidents and ensure follow-up documentation in accordance with VA and regulatory policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
ARRT Certification in Radiography and CT (Computed Tomography) (Required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current).
Compliance with VA credentialing standards and VHA Directive 1100.20.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Must pass all required background checks, credentialing, and pre-employment screenings.
Required Health & Safety Compliance:
Negative TB test (TST or IGRA) within past 12 months.
Proof of MMR, Varicella, and Tdap immunization.
Annual influenza vaccination (or wear a mask if medically exempt).
Completion of OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen training and Hepatitis B vaccination documentation.
Training Requirements:
All CT Technologists must complete the following VA-mandated training:
VA Privacy & Information Security Awareness
VHA HIPAA Focused Training
Records Management
Other training as required by the VA
Work Environment & Schedule:
Full-time coverage required with flexibility in shift start times between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday.
On-call availability is mandatory during after-hours, weekends, and federal holidays.
Federal holidays observed include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and others as listed by the VA.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a VA or government healthcare setting.
Familiarity with VistA/CPRS or VA’s EHR system.
Prior participation in QA/QI programs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, position, and transport patients as needed.
Extended periods of standing, walking, and performing imaging procedures.
