The Public Schools of Brookline seeks a dynamic and compassionate Flexible Support Clinician to join our team in supporting students experiencing social-emotional and/or behavioral challenges. This position plays a critical role in providing short-term, flexible, wraparound services designed to stabilize elementary students in crisis, reduce barriers to learning, and help students thrive in their educational environment.

The clinician will work collaboratively with school staff, families, and outside providers to assess student needs, implement targeted interventions, and build capacity for long-term student success. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide short-term, flexible clinical, social emotional  and behavioral support to students experiencing acute or chronic social-emotional or behavioral difficulties.

  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement in learning.

  • Collaborate with school teams (e.g., administrators, counselors, psychologists, teachers, and paraprofessionals) to develop and implement individualized support plans.

  • Engage in crisis response, stabilization planning, and ongoing monitoring of student progress.

  • Coordinate wraparound services, including referrals to community mental health providers or agencies when appropriate.

  • Maintain clear, confidential documentation and data to inform decision-making and support continuous improvement.

  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and consultation to strengthen the district’s capacity to support students with complex needs
  • Foster strong relationships with students and families, emphasizing culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, BCBA or a related field.

  • Licensure or licensure-eligible in Massachusetts
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the use of culturally responsive practices.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a public school or educational setting.

  • Training in trauma-informed care, restorative practices, behavioral supports or other relevant frameworks.

Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
