Account Executive Job Description: 

In the Account Executive role, you will focus on developing strong relationships with customers within the banking industry to build trust and to allow for better customer service to those respective clients. At its core, the position will be responsible for selling to and helping clients in execution of digital marketing, web development and tech solutions. The Account Executive and Account Manager will be a unified front and team to help better serve VGM Forbin’s current and prospective clients. 

The position requires a proactive and dynamic individual who can thrive in a fast-paced and competitive sales environment while delivering exceptional service to clients.

*Please note in an Account Executive role, travel is required as necessary. 

Reporting Accountability: Sales and Business Development Manager
Working Locations: Waterloo, IA; hybrid option with ability to be on-site for the team as needed, company meetings and events, etc. when meeting performance expectations
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8-5pm+ and occasional off hours as work demands
 

Responsibilities of the Account Executive:

The Account Executive is responsible for generating website, marketing & tech revenues for the assigned market to meet or exceed predetermined goals and become a digital strategy resource for multiple clients. An AE will work with the VGM Forbin Sales and Business Development Manager and forbinfi Account Manager(s) to meet existing customers, present new offerings portfolio beyond VGM Forbin/forbinfi, consult on marketing strategies, tech solutions and gain insights on potential new offerings. 

  • Maintain industry and product knowledge and inform the company of market trends changing market conditions and competitive issues
  • Discover and prospect potential clients
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers; provide after-sales service, and consultation
  • Analyze client marketing goals and develop needs-based solutions to achieve them
  • Serve as an expert for digital marketing products and services
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients
  • Plan work schedule and weekly and monthly timetables
  • Do what it takes to be an active resource for the client
  • Attend industry events as the face of all VGM marketing and related services; seek out opportunities to speak at such events

As the ideal candidate, you have: 

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or equivalent work experience with 5+ years’ B2B sales experience
  • Banking market or marketing agency experience highly preferred 
  • Strong organization, planning, analytical and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build rapport and respect of clients
  • An outgoing, confident, and persuasive manner
  • Sound interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with experience and success working in a timeline driven environment
  • Shows commitment to a client focused approach and performs consistently high quality and timely work

Physical Requirements: 

  • Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
  • Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed.
