The NSW Department of Education’s Information Technology Directorate (ITD) is transforming. We’ve streamlined our structure, strengthened our technical capability, and aligned every team to deliver real, lasting value for students, teachers and schools across New South Wales. There in an exciting opportunity within ITDs Infrastructure Services area.
About the role:
- Lead and manage a team of high performance technical specialists for best-fit network designs based on business needs
- Actively deliver technical consulting and subject matter expertise in alignment with ICT strategy and architecture
- Create and maintain design specifications, user / system interfaces, topologies as well as configuration databases
- Manage security and audit controls for disaster recovery routines as well as contingency procedures
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, vendor representatives and other IT teams to ensure technology solutions best fit business needs
- Draft reports and briefing notes for approval from the supervisor, Executive Director and Directors as appropriate
- Participate in an on-call roster for after-hours support approximately once a month
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 18 direct and indirect reports

- Demonstrated ability in a similar strategic role
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing team members and managing a team
- Be able to work in a matrix organisational structure in an environment of change
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to manage stakeholders at all levels
