Cumberland Paving and Contracting is part of Miller Paving Atlantic, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Cumberland Paving and Contracting provides the public and private sectors with road construction, paving, road and structure rehabilitation, engineering construction, aggregate-based materials, highway operations, and maintenance services
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract (Class 3 preferred)
Previous experience operating a loader is required
Mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance
- Experience with paving and milling equipment, dozers, excavators, and common core training
Responsibilities
Operate loaders and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently at portable crushing sites
Load and move materials as required for crushing and production operations
Conduct daily pre-operational inspections, fluid level checks, and minor maintenance
Perform routine cleaning, servicing, and basic repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance
Maintain accurate equipment logs and maintenance records
Assist with general site duties and support as needed
Day in the Life
Calling all heavy equipment operators! You’ll be at the heart of operations, running a variety of machinery including skid steers, front-end loaders, and other site equipment. Your day will include safely manoeuvring equipment to load materials, support crushing operations, and maintain site efficiency. Between runs, you’ll perform essential maintenance checks, keep your machine in peak condition, and ensure accurate reporting to keep everything running smoothly.
