Summary/Objective:
BCL Family Support Center provides a wide range of support services and recreation activities to families from diverse cultural, ethnic and linguistic communities of both children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as autism in the Greater New Bedford area. The FS Assistant Director will assist the Director in ensuring families receive high quality support services for their loved one. We offer assistance with information and referral to community resources, family training and support groups in multiple languages, parent networking and service navigation.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with the FS Director and Finance Department to ensure accuracy and compliance between contracts, expenditure plans and services rendered.
- Supervises Family Support Coordinators
- Oversees fiscal management of all allocations and reporting.
- Provides intervention with families as needed
- Ensures regulatory standards are met and maintained for DDS audits as well as yearly DDS Family Support reporting.
- Reviews and maintains all expenditure plans and determines if allocations are spent accordingly.
- Monitors and submits monthly service delivery reports and billing.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, maturity, common sense and good judgment
- Demonstrated organizational and professional writing skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work with others in a manner that promotes teamwork & cooperation
- Demonstrated capacity to work with families who have loved ones living at home with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or autism.
- Recruit members and develop an agenda for the Family Advisory Committee.
- Roll out satisfaction surveys and incorporate feedback into future planning.
- Assist with planning and hosting various training on relevant topics.
- Maintain and update resource page with public benefits, entitlements, services and community resources
- Compile resources and develop a weekly newsletter.
- Compile and share resources for website and social media for FS center.
- Maintain program data and utilization, as well as attendance for DDS.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of two years work experience in human service setting, preferably Family Supports.
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- BA/BS in Psychology or related field,
- Bilingual
Salary: $60,000 - $63,000 to commensurate with education and experience.
