WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a Materials Lead, you will assume a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the inventory control processes critical to our operations. Your responsibilities will encompass tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventory levels efficiently, ensuring the availability of essential materials and components to support manufacturing operations. With meticulous attention to detail, you will monitor stock levels, conduct regular audits, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory processes. Your role will require you to utilize inventory management software and implement best practices to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
- Reference Dynamics to fill U.S. domestic transfers orders and international sales orders
- Reference BiMiner to report motor shop inventory usage daily
- Report, reconcile inventory discrepancies and follow-up with an investigation along with supervisor to determine the root cause of the discrepancies to prevent recurrence
- Participate in cycle counts along side Materials Supervisor and Materials Coordinator
- Perform all preparation and execution of physical inventory at year end
- Maintain tagging and marking of parts bins in the warehouse
- Communicate with motor lead techs on part issues that put production output at risk
- Maintain safe and clean work environment following QHSE standards and procedures and comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Adhere to all company policies and if in doubt inquire with Materials Supervisor
- Assist and provide back-up in the absence of Materials Supervisor, contacting district shop managers at the start of each day to understand what parts must make that days’ truck, ensuring production is uninterrupted at all shop locations
- Collaborate with the Power Sections Supervisor, Shop Managers and Motor Lead Techs to coordinate the preparation of small parts and products to ship domestic/internationally
- Maintain effective communication with the Power Sections and other cross-functional teams regarding small parts requirements, availability, and specific instructions to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Three to five years of proven experience in Inventory Control, within the Oil and Gas manufacturing industry preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with industrial equipment
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a forklift
- Comfortable working in an environment that includes a mix of desk work, hands-on parts handling, loading, and moving
- Flexibility for overtime and on-call duty as required by the role
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications is a plus
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately manage inventory levels, discrepancies and records
- Excellent communications skills in English, both verbally and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team, lead others, fostering a culture of efficiency and excellence
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in inventory control
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds
- Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, copier/printer/scanner
- Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day
- Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses but could also include steel toe shoes/boots and other PPE
