The Purpose of the Product Owner role is to coordinate and drive the prioritization and successful development of BKR H/LL product capabilities. The Product Owner will lead defining and prioritizing features based on product roadmap and market demands, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers, the markets we serve and our business objectives.
Essential Functions/Job Duties
Product Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap:
- Effectively communicate the product vision and strategy to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with the product managers to define and manage the product roadmap and product priorities based on market trends, customer feedback and business objectives.
- Ensures the expected value of an epic/feature/user story meets the market expectation and aligns with the product vision, strategy, and roadmap of BKR H/LL.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide guidance and support to the Business Analysts in their day-to-day responsibilities including:
- Prioritizing their feature work
- Researching and developing user stories and acceptance criteria
- Iteration Demos
Market Analysis and Intelligence:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market changes, and competitor offerings.
- Use market insights to enhance the competitiveness and innovation of the product.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, delivery, product management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of priorities.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, fostering a collaborative and agile environment.
Product Development and User Experience:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the market requirements are met.
- Prioritize features and user stories based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer impact.
- Manage IR evaluation process to determine if the items are bugs or enhancements.
- Manage the enhancement backlog prioritization process.
- Advocate for a seamless and intuitive user experience by working closely with business analysts and development.
- Ensure that the product meets high standards of usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Director of Release Train Engineering to plan and coordinate product releases, considering dependencies and timelines.
- Monitor and communicate progress, risks, and issues related to product development to product management.
- Participate in scrum ceremonies, QA validation ceremonies and sprint acceptance activities.
- Utilize data and analytics to make informed recommendations about feature prioritization and product enhancements.
Communication and Change Management:
- Maintain transparent and effective communication with all stakeholders, keeping them informed about product development progress and changes.
- Gather and analyze user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement based on market changes, user needs, and business objectives
Skills/Qualifications Required
- 2-4 years experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in SaaS environment
- Advanced knowledge of a specific BKR H/LL product and its applications.
- Advanced knowledge of competitors' products and services.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Advanced knowledge of DevOps and product management road mapping tools
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
- Advanced project management and organizational skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
Preferred:
- Product Owner Cerfitification
- Agile SAFe Certification
This position requires regular onsite work at our Carmel, Indiana office. Candidates must be able to commute to and work from this location as part of their role.
